Experience with homes like this

A thoughtful plan comes before the cleanup

We’ve worked in several hoarding homes and understand that the work involves more than clearing a floor. Belongings can carry memories, and important items can be mixed in with things that are ready to leave. Your priorities and permission guide the work.

You don’t need to defend how the home got this way. Start with what you want help doing now. We’ll talk through the conditions, the practical work we can accept, and what may need a separate specialist. There is no one-size-fits-all timetable or whole-house price.

Dearing Road · A real SWAT cleanup

The Dearing Road project shows what a cleanup can change: a dining room crowded with papers, boxes and belongings becomes a room with visible floor space and a clear doorway. These photographs show the same room from different angles before and after the cleanup stage. Existing finish wear remains visible.

See the comparison below, or explore the full project album for photographs of the starting conditions, work in progress and later cleanup stages. Every home’s condition and agreed scope are different.

Agree each part of the work

Sorting, removal, and cleaning work together

Sorting & decisions

Separate belongings to keep, items awaiting a decision, and approved donations or disposal. Identify papers, photographs, keepsakes, and valuables before removal begins.

Organizing help

Approved removal

Agree which items may leave and how they will be handled. Volume, weight, stairs, carrying distance, and disposal requirements affect the plan and charges.

Junk removal & cleanouts

Detailed cleaning

Once agreed areas are accessible, plan cleaning for the surfaces and rooms included in your scope. Cleaning cannot resolve every stain, damaged material, or repair need.

How we approach the project

Make progress in clear, agreed stages

  1. 01

Talk through the home and your priorities

Start with the town or ZIP code, the rooms involved, and what you want to be able to do in the space. Tell us about blocked access, heavy items, utilities, pets, or other conditions the crew should know about. You don’t need to clean up before asking for help or explain anyone’s personal history.

  2. 02

Assess the work and agree on a first stage

The office determines whether a walk-through is needed and confirms which work we can accept. Together, we identify a practical starting point, such as an entryway, kitchen, bathroom, or one room. Scope, staffing, pricing, access, and who may approve changes are discussed before scheduling.

  3. 03

Protect what stays and approve what leaves

Set aside a place for belongings to keep and a separate area for items that need a decision. Point out photographs, important papers, valuables, and keepsakes. Agree on sorting categories and removal instructions with the resident or authorized representative before anything is discarded.

  4. 04

Remove approved items, then clean accessible areas

Sorting, carrying, hauling, disposal, and detailed cleaning each take time. We plan them in the right order and confirm their separate scope and charges. As space opens up, the crew can work on the agreed surfaces and rooms, subject to the conditions found.

  5. 05

Review progress and plan what comes next

Review the completed scope together and identify what remains. Some homes need several stages. If ongoing help would be useful, discuss organizing or recurring housekeeping after the initial cleanup, with a separate plan that fits the household.

Working within your budget

Understand the estimate before work begins

Ask what labor, removal, disposal, trip charges, and any other applicable costs are included. Sorting decisions and the conditions uncovered can change the time needed. The standard residential deep-cleaning base is not a quote for a hoarding cleanout.

For labor-time work, an estimate is a planning figure. If you need a spending cap, ask the office to accept a written or electronic Authorization Limit before work starts. Charges, changes, and any limited exceptions are governed by the agreed arrangement and full Terms.

Helping someone you care about

Coordinate from nearby or far away

Adult children, parents of adult children, and other authorized coordinators can start the conversation. Use your own contact details and the ZIP code of the home that needs help. Include the resident or their authorized representative in decisions about entry, belongings, and the work.

Agree who receives updates and whether any progress photos may be shared. Please don’t send medical records, access codes, or detailed private family information through the estimate form. You can discuss the home’s practical needs without sharing someone’s diagnosis.

Arrange cleaning for a loved one

Extreme conditions need a clear scope

Urine, feces, and heavily soiled spaces

We handle urine and feces cleanup, including heavily soiled toilets. A stained toilet and widespread waste contamination need different amounts of work and preparation. Describe the extent, affected surfaces, access, and known hazards so the office can assess the job before accepting and pricing it.

We do not handle blood cleanup or communicable-disease remediation. Tell us about blood, needles, sewage backups, serious pest activity, unstable floors, or other hazards before a visit. Those conditions may require a separate specialist. Don’t move or disturb hazardous materials to prepare for us.

Our role is agreed practical cleanup. We do not diagnose or treat a health condition, provide personal care or welfare checks, or certify a home as medically safe or suitable for occupancy.

Start with the home’s Ohio location

Our Matt Castle, Ohio house manager welcomes inquiries across our Ohio cleaning area, including Toledo, Columbus, Dublin, Grove City, Worthington, and Hilliard. Clear answers

Questions about hoarding & extreme conditions

Do I need to clean or sort before you come?

No. Start with a conversation about the home as it is. Tell the office about access and any known hazards. We’ll discuss assessment and preparation without asking you to move unsafe items or tackle the whole home first.

Will you throw everything away?

No. The resident or authorized representative sets the decisions and removal instructions. Keep, review, donate, and disposal categories should be agreed before work. Tell us about important belongings, private papers, and areas that must be left alone.

Can I arrange help for a parent or another adult?

Yes. You can be the contact even if you live outside Ohio. The resident or their authorized representative must be involved in permission, entry, and decisions about belongings. A family relationship or an estimate request alone does not authorize entry or disposal.

How much does hoarding cleanup cost?

The condition of the home, amount of material, access, sorting time, labor, removal, and disposal requirements affect the estimate. Hoarding cleanup needs a project-specific assessment; our standard residential deep-cleaning base is not a whole-home cleanout price. Review the pricing guide and Terms, and ask about an accepted written or electronic Authorization Limit if you need a spending cap.

Can you finish the whole house in one day?

We can discuss your deadline, but timing depends on the assessment, approved scope, crew availability, and conditions found. Some projects need several visits. We’ll discuss realistic priorities rather than promise a fixed completion time before seeing the work.

Do you clean urine, feces, or heavily soiled toilets?

Yes. We handle urine and feces cleanup and heavily soiled toilets. Routine toilet cleaning and widespread waste contamination are different scopes. Describe the extent and affected materials before a visit so the office can assess access, hazards, methods, and pricing. Work is accepted only after that assessment.

What cleanup do you exclude?

We do not handle blood cleanup or communicable-disease remediation. Tell the office about blood, needles, sewage backups, serious pest activity, structural concerns, or other hazards before anyone enters. These conditions may need a separate specialist; acceptance is assessed for the specific work. Do not move or disturb hazardous materials to prepare for us.

Do you provide mental-health treatment or personal care?

No. This service is practical help with agreed sorting, approved removal, and cleaning. We do not diagnose, treat a health condition, provide personal care, or certify a home as medically safe or suitable for occupancy.
